Wheeler Economic Development Committee

The Wheeler Funding Committee is dedicated to identifying and evaluating diverse funding sources and opportunities that will enhance the town's economic growth and sustainability. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to secure revenue streams that support vital community projects, infrastructure, and services, ensuring a prosperous future for our small town.

The committee’s primary focus will be finding various funding opportunities that will help increase the city’s revenue, including but not limited to:

  1. Grant Writing and Management: The committee will actively research, identify, and apply for grants that align with the city’s needs and priorities. This will include overseeing the entire process from identifying appropriate grants, writing proposals, and ensuring proper follow-up and reporting as required by grant agencies.
  2. Fundraising and Event Organization: The committee would also work to organize events and initiatives that will raise funds for the city. This could include things like fundraising drives, festivals, charity events, or community activities that both promote the city and generate revenue.
  3. Sponsorships and Partnerships: Another aspect of the committee’s work could include developing relationships with businesses, organizations, and individuals who may be interested in sponsoring events, projects, or initiatives within the city.
  4. Promoting Wheeler: Part of the committee’s responsibility would be to promote the city of Wheeler in order to attract visitors, businesses, and potential investors. By increasing the city’s visibility and appeal, we can generate more revenue through tourism, business investments, and other avenues.

Exploring Other Revenue Streams: Additionally, the committee would explore other potential sources of funding, such as partnerships with regional or state organizations, and consider alternative funding mechanisms to ensure the financial health of the city.
